Eighth Annual International Seminar and Symposium 2016 University of British Columbia

The Association of Canadian Archivists Student Chapter at the University of British Columbia (ACA@UBC) is delighted to present its Eighth Annual International Seminar and Symposium, Preserving Liquid Communication, which will be held at UBC on February 10th to 12th, 2016.

The 2016 seminar and symposium will focus on the preservation of informal communications in cloud environments generated through the use of social media. Archivists, records managers, and other information professionals will discuss the nature of social media output, the identification of what should be preserved, methods of preservation and provision of access, and legal issues related to intellectual rights, privacy, right to be forgotten, and more.

The two-day seminar will discuss the issues informally while the symposium will feature formal presentations by our speakers. All SLAIS students and professors, interested students and professors from other UBC units, and information professionals are invited to attend both events, and to actively participate in the seminar.
